Canon PIXMA TS5070 Drivers Download– The least expensive multifunctional printer (AIO) in the new Canon Pixma TS series – the Pixma TS5070 wireless multifunction printer ($ 99.99) – is a low-cost, low-volume model designed for home use. The main difference between it and the more expensive and more versatile TS9020 and TS8020 (the latest editor’s choice) is that the TS5070 uses five colors instead of six.

Unlike another editor choice, the Brother MFC-J985DW (office-oriented entry-level AIO), none of these Pixmas has automatic document feeders (ADFs), making them less suited for home-office use. As with the TS8020, the text and photo output of the TS5070 is very strong, but it did not help in testing the printing of dark fillers and backgrounds in Excel charts and PowerPoint handouts. Otherwise, this is an inexpensive alternative to the TS8020 for small print photos and documents for home users.

Like other Pixmas TS series, the TS5070 performs three functions – printing, scanning and copying – and comes in three colors: black (the one under consideration), white and brown. Unlike other TS models, the TS5070 has only one source of input paper, a tray that comes out of the back of the case and contains 100 sheets (or 20 sheets of premium photo paper). The TS9020 and TS8020 are supplied not only from the rear tray, but also with a 100-sheet cassette in front. In addition, 5 by 14.7 by 12.5 inches (HWD) and weighing a small 12.1 pounds, it is also the smallest of the bundles and thus petite enough to fit comfortably on most desktops. The control panel consists of a 3-inch color non-touch LCD display, which allows you to navigate with the four arrow buttons and the OK button to execute commands. There are four more buttons on the panel: power, back, stop and start. The software suite consists of standard photocentric drivers and Canon Pixma programs that include My Image Garden and Quick Menu.

anon estimates the TS5070 at 12.6 pages per minute (black) for black and white pages and 9 pages per minute for colors. I tested it with a USB using a Core i5 PC with Windows 10. When we print a lightly formatted Microsoft Word text document, the TS5070 succeeded 12.1 pages per minute, very close to the rating and a bit slower than the TS9020 12, 9 ppm and slightly faster than the 11.4 pages per minute of TS8020. In addition, it printed 3 pages of the same text document faster than the Epson Expression Premium XP-640, a competing five-ink AIO without ADF. Like many of the tested printers, the TS5070‘s speedometer remained remarkable when I included the results for printing Acrobat, Excel, and PowerPoint documents containing color, graphics, and photos (in this case, like other TS Pixmas systems discussed here) ) almost 75%. Its score of 4.5 ppm was a tick higher than 4.2 ppm of TS9020 and 4.4 ppm of TS8020, but not much. However, it found some 3.2 pages per minute in the Epson XP-640.

The TS5070 managed to print photos at an average of 19 seconds when a 4-inch 6-inch snapshot was printed. It was faster than the other TS9020 and TS8020, and 6 seconds faster than XP-640. Based on the print quality of the TS5070 (see next section), 19 seconds is fast.

In addition to the standard three colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow), the TS5070 has two black inks, one pigment-based and one toner-based. As mentioned, both the TS9020 and TS8020 have sixth, gray, ink prints for predominantly grayscale photos, although Canon also says they improve color. As with TS8020, print quality was above average. The text came out dark and well-formed, even in small sizes (5 and 6 points). And when I printed photos on premium paper, the results were great, and I was competing for what we saw on the six-ink TS models, but also the previous MG series Pixmas models (replaced by the TS series), like the Pixma MG5720 Wireless Inkjet All in one.

Graphics also looked good for the most part, even though I saw some tape (regular pattern of weak lines) in dark fillings and backgrounds, especially black ones. On the other hand, lighter colors and gradients looked great. The TS5070 would not be the best option for printing PowerPoint partitions, but its photo and text quality is not questioned.

Thanks to the fifth black ink, it is not really possible to calculate the exact cost of the TS5070 as there is no way to measure when this cartridge will go in. The cost of using four standard cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks is 4.1 cents for black and white pages and 12.7 cents for color. So let’s say that the price of a page with another black ink is a little higher.

Such high costs are not unusual in photo-like AIO systems like this. For example, the Epson XP-640’s side costs are 4.7 cents for black and 13.7 cents for color, and it also has the 5th Ink (“Photo Black”), which increases the cost of the page in some scenarios. it is impossible to calculate the actual operating costs accurately. You don’t have to tolerate these high ink costs to get good looking photos. The above mentioned Pixma G3200 (with similar features as TS5070) prints photos as well as all the TS series models discussed here, as well as several Epson EcoTank models, such as the Expression ET-3600 EcoTank All-in-One, Supertank printer, that produces less than 1 cents per page for both monochrome and color pages. Pixma TS5070 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One is indeed an all-in-one printer because it prints documents, scans and copies, but most of them are just the convenience of being a photo printer. The absence of ADF and high operating costs make it more impractical to use higher priced siblings, TS9020 and TS8020, not for low home use. If you need more, consider a machine with lower operating costs, such as the Brother MFC-J985DW, but you won’t get any quality of the TS5070 photo – an exceptional price.
